He is the first Somali-Kenyan to gain a parliamentary seat in the Nyanza region, and he also serves as the Minority Leader of the National Assembly. This makes him the first Somali-Kenyan to achieve either of these accomplishments. He is an adherent to the ODM political movement as a supporter. The first part of Mohamed’s education was completed in Migori Primary School, and then he moved on to Lenana School for his secondary education.

He is currently serving as the Minority Leader of the National Assembly where he was elected to that role. Junet won the race against five other competitors by earning 26,516 votes. There were approximately 54,495 registered voters, and approximately 74% of them participated in the election.
Junet Mohamed, who was first elected to the position of Member of Parliament for Suna East in 2013, will be serving in that capacity for a third consecutive term. During the election for president, Raila Odinga, candidate for the Azimio La Umoja-One Kenya Alliance, received 38,391 votes, while Dr. William Ruto, candidate for the UDA, received 2,128 votes. Both David Mwaure, the head of the Agano Party, and Prof. George Wajackoyah, a presidential candidate for the Roots Party, received 74 votes each. Prof. George Wajackoyah received 27 votes.

Family
Junet was born into the family of Sheikh Nuh Mohammed, who had moved his family from Mandera County to Migori in order to establish a business there. Junet was named after Sheikh Nuh Mohammed. His entire family is Muslim, and he is the second of his family’s children to be born.
Education
After completing his primary school at Migori Primary School, Mohamed continued his education at Lenana School so that he could complete his secondary education. After some time, he enrolled in the University of Nairobi and ultimately earned a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration there.
Career
