On November 17, 2016, she became the first news anchor to wear a hijab when she anchored the 11 p.m. broadcast for CityNews on CITY-DT in Toronto, Ontario.

Since 2010, she has worked both behind-the-scenes and on-air for local and national Canadian news outlets, such as CTV News, CFRB, and Rogers Television. Her work has also been published in The Globe and Mail and the National Post. She graduated with honors from both York University and Seneca College.

In 2018, Massa tied the knot with her spouse in Toronto.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) made the announcement in 2020 that Massa will be joining the network in the role of host for a prime time show on the CBC News Network as well as a special reporter for The National. The first episode of her show, titled Canada Tonight, aired on the CBC News Network on January 11, 2021.
