Javier Baez Parents: Father Angel Luis & Mother Nelida Agosto

Tigers third baseman On December 1, 1992, Javier Baez was born to his parents in Bayamon, Puerto Rico. He is one of Angel Luis and Nelida Agosto’s three sons.

Mr. Angel, who worked as a landscaper, made a big difference in the life of his son. He was the one who taught Javier how to play baseball when he was young.

Angel Lusi, Javier’s father, is no longer with us. According to a report in the Chicago Tribune, he died years ago after he fell and hit his head.

Since Javier was young, Mrs. Nelida has been a big fan of his baseball career. She used to take care of their house while her husband was teaching their son.

The MLB player often sends his mother pictures on Instagram on special days like his birthday and mother’s day. Mrs. Nelida can also be found on Instagram under the handle @nelidaagosto, where she posts pictures of herself with her grandson.

Still, Javier, who has been an All-Star twice, started out as a shortstop for the Arizona Cubs in the Rookie Division of the Arizona League. Even though he only played in three games, he got 12 at-bats, had three hits, two doubles, and stole two bases.

After being picked up by the Boise Hawks of the Class A-Short Season Northwest League, he hit one single in six at-bats over two games.

On September 29, 2011, the Leones de Ponce picked Javier with the third overall pick in the Liga de Béisbol Profesional Roberto Clemente (LBPRC) rookie draft. However, he couldn’t play because the Cubs wouldn’t let him.

Javier Baez Has Two Brothers: Gadiel And Rolando Baez

Javier Baez grew up with his two older brothers, Gadiel and Rolando Baez. The way their dad felt about sports had a big impact on three of them.

While they were in Puerto Rico, the Baez brothers learned more about the sport. Then, as a permanent reminder of how much they loved baseball, they would get tattoos of MLB’s logo.

Their tattoos mostly show that baseball has always been a big part of their lives. Even so, the three brothers still love baseball games with the same level of passion and love.

In 2018, Javier said that his older brother, Gadiel, might pitch him in the Home Run Derby. This was after some of the Cubs’ coaches talked about slugging second basemen with Javier.

He also said that giving the part to his brother would be a very special moment. Gadiel, Javier’s older brother, is only two years older than him.

In the year 2022, Baez will be 29 years old. In December, he will turn 30. Gadiel, on the other hand, was born in 1990 and is now 31 years old.

During high school and college, Gadiel and Rolando both played baseball. They have been telling their brother Javier that he needs to do better in MLB.

On July 6, 2013, the Cubs sent Javier to the Tennessee Smokies of the Class AA Southern League. At the end of the season, both the FSL and the Southern League chose him for their All-Star teams.

At the end of the year, he was the Cubs’ top prospect and third in the Southern League. This earned him the title of Minor League Player of the Year from the team.

Javier Baez Sister Noel Passed Away Suffering From Spina Bifida At The Age Of 21

Javier Baez’s family included a younger sister named Noel. She had spina bifida, which killed her on April 8, 2015, when she was 24 years old.

Spina Bifida is a birth defect that happens when the spine and membranes around the spinal cord don’t close all the way when the baby is still in the womb. It is thought to be caused by a mix of genes and the environment.

An associated abnormality of the cerebellum known as the Arnold Chiari II malformation is common in people with spina bifida.

When this happens, the back part of the brain moves from the back of the head to the top of the neck.

The Cubs sent Báez to Iowa on March 30, 2015, because he had a hard time in spring training, mostly because he struck out a lot. He hit.324 for Iowa in 70 games, missing time because his sister died and he broke his finger.

Baez took some time off from the Iowa Cubs to deal with the tragedy at the time. He had a hard time getting over the death of his beloved sister.

In an interview from December 2013, Baez said that her family didn’t think of her as different from them. He said that her sister was a miracle who made their lives better.

MLB Star Javier Baez Moved To North Carolina With His Family For Better Life

When Javier Baez was young, his mother, two brothers, and sister, Noely, moved to North Carolina so that they could have better chances.

The family had to move so that his sister Noel, who had spina bifida, could get better medical care. The high school baseball season didn’t start until the spring after that, and Baez was getting pretty crazy.

Baez told someone early on that he cried to go back to Puerto Rico. He said that there was nothing to do and that he didn’t know anyone there.

Since Javier didn’t speak or understand English well, it was hard for him to fit in at middle school. After three years of making mistakes and trying again, he finally learned the language. He memorized words before he knew what they meant.

He went to Florida to attend Arlington Country Day School. Ron Dickerson, who was his coach at ACB, said that scouts didn’t think much of him at first. They saw his potential, but they didn’t think he would become a star.
