For the holidays, the streaming services are putting out their lists of Christmas movies. Even though the LGBTQ+ representation isn’t where we hoped it would be by 2022, there are still a few exciting movies to look forward to.

Jake Helgren wrote and directed the movie, which tells the story of two old friends who get together for the holidays in their hometown. It also shows the exciting treasure hunt for the homecoming party.

Taylor Frey plays Austin Craig

In the upcoming holiday movie A Christmas to Treasure on Lifetime, Frey will play the main character, Austin Craig. His character gets close to Everett, played by Massey, who used to be his best friend. They meet up for a holiday treasure hunt.

Frey is best known for his role as Don Hagerty in It Chapter Two, which was made by Warner Brothers (2019). The 33-year-old actor was born on April 29, 1989, in Oslo, Norway. He has been in the entertainment business for over a decade, since 2010.

Frey started out as an actor on Broadway. He has been in shows like Hairspray, South Pacific, and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. Gossip Girl, Days of Our Lives, Summertime, and Secrets in the Woods are all TV shows that he has been in.

Everett Matthews is played by Kyle Dean Massey

In the movie, Massey plays the part of Everett. The main focus of the movie is on the characters he plays with his real-life wife, Taylor (Austin).

He is also known for playing the main character in the Broadway musicals Wicked, Pippin, and Next to Normal.

From 2015 to 2018, he played the role of Kevin Bicks, a country music songwriter, on the popular musical drama show Nashville. The 124th and last episode of the soap opera aired on July 26, 2018.

Katie Walder as Tipper Tisdale

Walder is an American actress, writer, and producer. She is best known for her recurring roles as Janet Billings on Gilmore Girls, Shannon on How I Met Your Mother, and Sherry on Mad Men. She has been in the business since 2002, which is about 20 years.

The talented actress has been in over forty TV shows, including Franklin & Bash, New Girl, Fairly Legal, Supernatural, The Good Wife, and Rules of Engagement. In the award-winning movie Shelter, Katie played the girlfriend of Trevor Wright.

Humes, an American actress, won the Miss Florida USA pageant. She also came in third place in the Miss USA contest in 1975. She later started working as an actress on TV and has been in more than 50 shows.

Mary is best known for playing Gail Leery, the mother of the main character, on the WB teen drama Dawson’s Creek from 1998 to 2003. She first appeared in a movie in 1981, in the comedy History of the World, Part I.

The first episode of Jake Helgren’s A Christmas to Treasure will air on Lifetime on Friday, December 16, 2022, at 8 p.m. The next day, you will be able to stream it.

The movie is a heartwarming story about two old best friends who get back together for the holidays in their hometown. After the death of a beloved old neighbor, they are among the six friends who get together for a holiday treasure hunt in their hometown.

“They had both played straight main characters in holiday romances I had written before, so it goes without saying that they were thrilled when I asked them to play the parts,” he said. “It’s funny, I texted them the idea and they said yes before I even wrote the script! They are so honest and easygoing, and I always have a great time with them on and off the field.”

Frey told people about the new movie and said, “Playing against my husband was both funny and a lot of fun. We were also lucky to have a great cast and the best director and producing team a guy could ask for.”

Mary Margaret Humes (Dawson’s Creek), Katie Walder (Shelter), and Roberto Aguire are also in A Christmas to Treasure (Struck by Lightning). The film will come out at the same time as The Holiday Sitter, which stars Jonathan Bennett and also has a gay main character.

There have been a lot of LGBTQ+ holiday movies in the past two years. The Christmas Setup, which came out on Lifetime in 2020, was the first gay holiday movie. The Christmas House and Single All the Way, among other movies, also came out in 2020. But this year, the networks didn’t make the same effort to tell stories that were interesting to everyone. We hope that more will happen in 2022.

The singer-songs songwriter’s have been downloaded more than 10 million times in the US.

Michael Xavier had a recurring role on The Expanse and Northern Rescue, and he was a regular on the show Bitten. The actor, who was born in Ottawa, also had roles in the movies Christmas Comes Twice, Shazam!, The Bold Type, and Taken.

Michael Robison was in charge of A Christmas Treasure, which was based on a script by Sandra Berg and Judith Berg.
